Anti-Cruelty Society

Veterinary clinic: The Anti-Cruelty Society operates a low-cost veterinary clinic for people who may not otherwise be able to afford proper veterinary care.  Services include spay/neuter surgeries. SAFE program: The Anti-Cruelty Society provides up to 30 days of free pet boarding for approved program applicants who are temporarily displaced from their homes (due to fire, natural disaster, medical condition or domestic violence) and are having difficulty finding shelter for both their families and pets. Fact sheet | Learn more >

PAWS Chicago

Veterinary clinic: PAWS provides free and low-cost spay/neuter and vaccinations for pets of families in need at the Lurie Clinic in Little Village. The Lurie Clinic also offers low-cost annual preventive services during vaccine clinic hours. Learn more >

Pet food: The PAWS Chicago Pet Food Bank provides emergency assistance to families facing unemployment, foreclosure, or other financial crisis. Owners must show proof of financial need and not be looking to adopt or buy a pet with PAWS Chicago’s help. Veterinary clinic: The Animal Welfare League operates a low-cost veterinary clinic, no appointment necessary. Discounted office visits are available for those that are on state assistance programs. Friendship Pet Food Pantry

Pet food: Distribution takes place the third Saturday of every month from 9 to 11 a.m. There are no income eligibility requirements, but clients must show proof that their pets are spayed or neutered.
