The Friendship Center fosters hope and dignity in Chicago’s northwest side communities through access to food and vital resources.
The Friendship Center is a fresh food, full-choice, welcoming food pantry that provides groceries for 4,500 neighbors every month. Our service area includes the Albany Park, Lincoln Square, North Park, Ravenswood and West Ridge neighborhoods of Chicago.
We operate a food pantry four days a week and serve hot meals on Thursday evenings. Delivery service is available for seniors and other individuals who are homebound and cannot visit the pantry. We also provide pet food once per month.
Affiliations
The Friendship Center is a non-sectarian, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. We work with a variety of faith communities that support our work, and we serve all people equally regardless of religious affiliation, race, ethnicity or gender orientation.
As a partner agency of the Greater Chicago Food Depository, we can purchase food from the GCFD directly and utilize other resources, such as city-wide data mapping, to more effectively manage our own operation.
The Friendship Center fundraises independently. Donations are fully tax deductible.
